- Got approval of Rotary Global Grant GG1872446 Application, the
largest GG project with outlay of USD197,250.00 to set up Jahanara
Eye Care Centre at TMSS Hospital, Bogura.
- Implemented 1st phase of project with Diabetic Association of
Bangladesh.
- Successfully completed 16 projects (individual and multi-club).
- For the first time RC Ramna established a website complete with
club's own domain name www.ramnarotary.org .
- Inducted 5 new and young members including 1 female member
during the year.
- RC Ramna members attended all major district events during
2018-19.
- RC Ramna members attended 2018 Yogya Rotary Zone Institute,
Yogyakarta, Indonesia Training Seminar.
- Did all fortnightly meetings and published bulletin KRISHNATURA on
the day of the meeting for distribution to all members present and
sent the bulletin online to all members, district governor's office and
other important Rotary leaders.
- Received Rotary District Award for 2019 as Best Club for Grants and
2nd Best Club for Joint Community Service Project with Non-Rotary
Partners.
- RI President's Citation for 2018 has also been achieved by RC Ramna
as per announcement from the District.
- RC Ramna handed a cheque of 4 lac to MAMMS hospital for
purchase of a sophisticated equipment for treatment of ultra-poor
obstetric fistula patients.
- RC Ramna executed Wheelchair project in partnership with the
LCBD and distributed 5 wheel-chairs donated by our members to
physically handicapped persons.
- A total of 28 deserving meritorious students received scholarships
under Scholarship project of RC Ramna. Scholarships amounting Tk:
1,68,000 were given to facilitate education for students who
otherwise would not have been able to continue their academic
activities.
- Signed an MoU for Joint Project with RC Kleve-Schloss Moyland,
Germany supported by the Antheri-Hilfe of Germany and
implemented the project as monitoring partner responsible to
monitor the project activities of Northern part of Bangladesh.
- Screening for Cataract patients and general health check-up in the
rural setting for poor people was done at Akhalia Narshingdi in
February 2019.
- Health and Eye screening program for urban poor students at Mirpur
and Mohammad areas in Dhaka was organized for over 4000
students in December 2018.
- Initiated international cooperation with Rotary Club of Ilsan Jayuro of
Korea which had shown interest in participating in GG projects jointly
with RC Ramna. A two-member team of the Korean Rotary Club
informed of their visit to Dhaka for discussions with RC Ramna in early
July 2019.

Short overview of Rotaract Club of Ramna 2020-21
Rotaract club of Ramna is one of the oldest clubs in RI District 3281. From the very bieging this club has been a
well nourished club. The young and energetic members of Rotaract Club of Ramna have always been a source
of great strength to RC Ramna, particularly in dispensing charity services to large numbers of beneciaries,
located in distant places of the country. This year they had to shoulder the added burden due to COVID-19
outbreak. However, they continued their club’s activities with courage. In collaboration with RC Ramna they
distributed food, goods and money both to the poor and unemployed people suering from Covid 19 and also
the ood aected people in some districts. They helped to arrange and manage the Installation ceremony of
RC Ramna. They joined fellowship events and fortnightly meetings of RC Ramna physically and virtually. RC
Ramna puts on record its appreciation of timely cooperation extended by the dynamic President and members
of the Rotaract Club. Three Rotaracts attended the RYLA program from the Club. We are grateful to our Rotaract
members for their support particularly in the eld work .
Rotaract Club of Ramna has completed various projects jointly with RC Ramna, the host Club. Individually RTC
Ramnas projects and activities were remarkable in a pandemic situation.
Few remarkable activities of RTC Ramna in RY 2020 -2021..
1. Digital Initiative of Cultural Exchange (DICE) Meeting between Rotaract Club of Ramna, RID-3281 Bangladesh
& Rotaract Club of Northern Suburbs RID-3141 India.
2. Online " Quiz competition " virtually and " Gift Distribution " physically jointly with " Help The Future".
3. Rotaract Club of Ramna joined as a Co Host Club for an international E-RYLA event. Hosted by Rotaract
Club of Northern Suburbs. RID 3141.
4. Rotaract club of Ramna was one of the host clubs of "Rotaract district winter cloth distribution" project.
5. The Rotaract club of Ramna has completed a " Tree Plantation '' project in Tongi.
6. Three Rotaracts attended the RYLA program from the Club. Rtr. Shahadat who achieved rst day best camper
award in his group. Rotaract club of Ramna achieved the best cricket team award in RYLA 2020 - 2021.

- Got approval 2 new Global Grant:
1. Akhalia Village comprehensive development project (Akhalia
Happy School) International partner Ilsan Jayuro RID3690
2. Establishment of a Rotary Cancer Detection Center at TMSS College
and Rafatullah Community Hospital at Thengamara, Bogura
International Partner: RC Bombay Chembur West.
- Successfully completed 30 (Goal was 21) projects (Individual,District &
Multi-club)
- Included 9 new members (7 female and 2 young male members),
Goal was 5.
- RC Ramna members attended all major district events & Training
during 2020-2021 physically/virtually.
- Did 27 regular meetings Virtually (24 Fortnightly, 2 joint meetings & 1
special meeting). 12 Board meetings Virtually. 2 fellowship Dinner
physically. Hybrid Installation was held on December 8th , 2020. 3
Club Assemblies were done. In the Zoom platform all together 19
guest speakers joined our Fortnightly meetings.
- RC Ramna published 24 fortnightly bulletin Krishnachura & Installation
Suvenner in the year 2020-2021.Bulletins were sent online on the day
of the meeting to all members, district governor's office and other
important Rotay leaders of RID 3281 & to a few Rotarians of other
districts. Hard copies of the bulletin were distributed quarterly by
courier because of Covid19 pandemic situation.
- TRF Contribution: Total contribution to TRF in 2020-2021 amounted to
US$2188.00 (TRF $688+ Polio Fund $1500.00), Goal was US$400. RC
Ramna achievements for the year are shown in three categories of
projects.
A.Clubs Own Projects
- Covid related activities such as Food Distribution Projects, Distribution of
PPE and Masks, Oxygen Concentrators, High Flow Cannulas.
- Flood Relief Projects to Severe flood affected areas namely Jamalpur,
Gaibandah, LalmonirhatAshequl Islam MPHF MD by Rotary
International.
- Tree Plantation Projects to make the environment more livable tree
planting activities have been carried out in Hariket, Tongi, Gazipur
and in various wards of Dhaka north city corporation area.
- Blanket Distribution in winter Blankets has been done among the
needy people such as rickshaw pullers among elderly people and
orphans in Dhaka and Madaripur.
- Mental Health Awareness Project, A virtual training and awareness
program related to mental health organized by Mental health and
Awareness Training and research Trust (MATERS), Dept of Public
Health, IEB and BUET collaborated for the project.
- Logistics Support in Education, to a school in Manikganj, Abdul Jalil
Academy by provision of a Laptop, Projector and Screen.
- Scholarship to Poor Students, Six poor students in rural areas from Class
VII to Class X.
- Environment Day Campaign: In respect of the campaign for 2020-2021
project by the District 3281 a tree plantation in collaboration with the
UNDP sponsored project “Livelihood Empowerment of Urban Poor
Communities” in Korail slum area.
- Disease Prevention and Safe Mother and Child project: For Rotary
Service week a donation program for the MAMMS Institute of Fistula
and Women's health, New Eskaton, Dhaka.
- Women’s Day Observation: The club observed the day with a lecture
on the topic “Women and Transportation Issues in Bangladesh.”
B. Multi club Projects: The following projects were conducted;
- Flood relief Project: This was done in various flood hit areas of
Bangladesh where cash money and goods were distributed among
the needy people.
- Joint School Renovation Project: 11 Rotary clubs with all female
presidents joined hands in a School Renovation project of Dolairpar
Primary School, Jatrabari.
- Winter Jackets Distribution: Along with Rotary Club of Dhaka Stars a
100 Jackets with Rotary Logo was distributed among High school
students in schools in Annoyapur and Matuail.
- Awareness Programme on,”Menstrual Hygiene and Care”: An
awareness program was held jointly with 6 other clubs RC Dhaka
Abani. RC Dhaka Capital, RC Path Finder, RC Rose Vale, RC Jahangir
Nagar. Diabetes Day: RC Ramna observed the day with four clubs in
a zoom platform.
- Tree Plantation: In observance of the Rotary Week a tree plantation
program was conducted with the Rotary Club of Dhaka in Hatirjheel
area.
- World Polio Day: Along with District 3281, and Rotary Bangladesh
National Polio Plus Committee, and other clubs RC Ramna observed
the day through donation to TRF for Polio.
- World Diabetic Day: Along with District and other Clubs.
- Breast Cancer Day: Along with District and other Clubs.
C.District Project:
- District Grant Project: Support to old home: The club utilized the fund
for providing 3 hospital beds (SS Beds), 2 Nebulizers and Sanitary
supplies to the home sheltering 75 elderly women called,” Apon
Nibas” at Abdullahpur Uttara.
- Disaster management: The club helped some families affected by the
Pandemic to regain their income.
- District Collaborative Projects:-Rotary Week: In observance of Rotary
Birthday week’ District 3281 declared a weeklong activity. RC Ramna
participated in six projects in honor of the declaration.
- Environment Day: In observation of the day RC Ramna conducted a
tree plantation in Korail slum
D. Recognised active Senior members: During the Installation ceremony
of RC Ramna in Dec 2020 The club recognized six club members for
their dedicated service to the club. They are Rtn PP M. A. Hashem
MPHF MD, Rtn Dr Rezaul Karim MPHF, Rtn Shahed Akhter MPHF, Rtn
Shamsul Ahsan Farooq MPHF, Rtn A. F. M Sarwar Kamal PHF, Rtn
Ashequl Islam MPHF MD.
E.GLOBAL GRANTS PROJECT: RC Ramna carried out five projects and
initiated two new projects as outlined below.
i) J&J Eye Care Center at the TMSS Medical College and Rafatullah
Community Hospital
ii) Akhalia Village comprehensive development project
iii) Prosthetic and Orthotic Limb Center at TMSS Medical College and
Rafatullah Community Hospital
iv) Covid 19 Testing and Treatment center at TMSS Medical College and
Rafatullah Community Hospital, Thengamara,TMSS Bogura with
International Partner: RC Bombay Chembur West.
v) Establishment of a Rotary Cancer Detection Center at TMSS College
and Rafatullah Community Hospital at Thengamara, Bogura
International Partner: RC Bombay Chembur West.
vi) Jain Mission Hospital , India. Rotary Bangalore Indiranagar along with their
global grand partner support from Rotary Club of Ramna, Bangladesh &
Rotary Foundation under a global grant are providing equipment for the
ICU at a cost of Rs.94,00,000/-.

- Achieved the set Rotary Citation Goals.
- Approval of a new Global Grant Project.
- Completion of 2 Global Grant Projects with Final report acceptance.
- Continued to support the other ongoing Global Grant Projects
- Completion of targeted 17 service projects of the club.
- Target of induction of 6 New Members was achieved.
- Fellowship was given due importance in the Club. All fortnightly
meetings had allocated time for fellowship between members. In
some of these meetings, fellowship dinners were hosted by
members, with attendance of Rotary Anns and spouses, thus
promoting bonding between families. Outings, watching movies
and sight- seeing together greatly facilitated the cause.
Celebration of International Women's Day by the Club, attendance
in rallies and seminars arranged by District and other clubs
promoted fellowship across clubs.
- Besides, a colorful installation ceremony was held with large
participation of PDG's, Rotarians, spouses and guests. This promoted
fellowship, friendship and camaraderie between participants.
- A paradigm shift was made in the way of conducting club meetings.
Humor and zest were infused. This generated a sense of feeling of pleasure and enthusiasm. As a result, reticent members, hitherto
tight-lipped, felt at ease, broke their silence and participated in
discussions spontaneously. This also improved attendance.
- In matters of procurement for project implementation, a meticulous
procedure was developed and introduced.
- In scholarship service project, a new rule was introduced.
Replacing usual practice of giving scholarship for one year, it was
decided to continue scholarship till High School graduation or
beyond, provided a student achieves a minimum prescribed
standard.
- President (Rtn Alauddin Majid) and Treasurer (Rtn PP Shahed Akhtar
along with Spouse) attended Rotary International Convention held
at Houston, Texas, USA , 4-8 June, 2022.

- The Global Grant (GG) project “ Rotary-Friendship Physiotherapy and Autism Center “ started and implemented during this RY 23-24. (Total Budget: USD 39,263)
- Got approval of Rotary Global Grant MAMM’S Institute of Fistula and Women’s Health( Total Budget: USD 39,897)
- Install new GG project with MAMMS
- This project carried over to the RY 24-25.
- Ramna took Initiative to establish another new Rotaract Club at the BUBT University students
- Successfully completed 10 projects including Multi-Club projects

- Ramna bulleting “Krishnachura” published regularly and sent to all members electronically. Hard copies were provided in the meeting too
